The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation which is owned by the Federal Government has started to release the show Canada’s Next Great Prime Minister via bittorrent on sites such as Mininova.org. What does this mean? Well it means the the large media corporations are starting to embrace bittorrent technology instead of trying to destroy it, which in turn means that we may be seeing our favorite shows available online for free very soon! I mean like legally free, not the shady kind of free that gets you into trouble! Regardless I’m hoping to see other media companies follow the CBC’s lead and realize that its cheaper to release a show online then it is to broadcast it, the way bittorrent works is that everyone shares the file once downloaded so all the CBC has to do is share the file maybe one hundred times and everyone else can download off those one hundred people and in turn those people can share to others and so on… therefore limiting the amount of bandwidth the CBC has to use to release the show! Anyways I’d just like to say, way to go CBC and please, please, please release something other then Canada’s Next Great Prime Minister!

If your a net monkey like I am then you already know that there is a war going on, a war between large media corporations and the common internet user, so I ask this question…is it right for an ISP to block internet traffic to a client that is file sharing? Recently, well actually for the past couple months my ISP has been blocking bittorrent traffic on my connection. They aren’t completely blocking it but instead of getting my regular 700 kb/s I’m getting 30 kb/s, to download anything takes forever for example I download a legitimate free file which was the documentary called Venezuela Bolivariana and it took several hours when it should have only taken minutes. So not only are the ISP’s blocking illegitimate traffic but also the legitimate traffic, so should they just stay out of it? should they not just let us download what we want to download? There are people out there that do use services like bittorrent to spread non-copyright files like Linux distros and informative documentaries! I personally think that the ISP’s have a role to play in this debate and I don’t believe they are on the right side and I think they will find out sooner or later!

I’ve been watching a lot of documentaries lately about the Bolivarian Revolution and I have to say I’m impressed with it. I think its a brilliant movement for Venezuela and those around the world who are sick of people oppressed by the rich and powerful elite who care of nothing but their vast riches and extravagant lifestyles while the poor can do nothing but just try to survive day to day. It’s amazing to see such a movement going on and very little of it making it’s way outside of Venezuela, I think most of that is thanks to the North American media trying to cover it up and push their own agenda, if it weren’t for the internet in the first place…I would have known nothing of it. I encourage those who have no idea what I’m talking about to check it out on the internet, here are some names of some good documentaries on the subject

1. Venezuela Bolivariana

2. Venezuela Revolution From The Inside Out

3. The Revolution Will Not Be Televised (This one is more about the 2002 coup attempt but very good!)

All these movies are accessible online and are free so check them out!

Welcome to the International Peacekeepers Alliance blog. Just to start off I will explain just what that means, the International Peacekeepers Alliance is just something I cooked up one day when I furious about how people are treated around the world, especially in developing countries. The IPA isn’t exactly anything at all yet its just a dream but I hope by getting the word out there that people will join me in some way or another, so here I am blogging away!

Basically what I will be writing about on this blog is my opinion on what is really going on in the world and my personal theories on what can be done, I don’t claim to be an expert but those with the most power to change things rarely are. Sometimes my views can be fairly radical but truthful and a lot of the time I am quite wrong so I expect lots of comments correcting me on my views and I encourage it!

So thank you for visiting and I hope to see you back soon when I’m in the full blogging mode!
